Did you know that there are more ways to make a DIY fleece blanket than just tying the ends together? These blankets make beautiful throws for a couch, easy comforters for a guest bed, and are the perfect addition to a DIY picnic kit. Whether you want to ward off the air conditioning or are getting ready for colder months, it’s always a great time to make this fun, easy project from Bags of Love.

How to Make a No-Sew Fleece Blanket

First, pick out fleece in your desired pattern. For most DIY blanket tutorials, you’ll want two lengths of fleece. These could be complimentary or contrasting colors—think colors on the opposite ends of the color wheel, or different shades of the same color. The size you’ll want depends on how big your blanket is. For a throw blanket, you’ll want about 1.5 yards.

Next, gather together any tools you need. The best thing about this project? You don’t need any sewing skills or tools, just scissors and some time!

Find full instructions for a variety of different no-sew fleece blankets on Bags of Love‘s page “How to Make a No-Sew Blanket: 8 Methods You Haven’t Seen Before.” Our favorite? The single-layer blanket without knots, a unique twist on the traditional blanket.
